Sullia, Aug 26: "Be united. Never feel jealous about a person from the community as and when he or she achieves something special. Never try to pull them down. Being united is the need of the hour, in the best interests of the community," advised Sri Dharmapalanath Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Mutt Mangalore branch.
He was delivering the benedictory address at a function organized at the KVG Town Hall here to felicitate dignitaries belonging to the Gowda community, on Tuesday August 25.
"Gowda Vokkaliga community is a clan of able and hard-working people. It should grow in stature and prominence like a huge tree. People of the community should never shed the rich belief systems, culture, ideals and way of living the community has imbibed through ages," he advised.
Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu Development Sangh and Sullia Taluk Gowda Yuva Seva Sangh had jointly organized the programme.
State BJP president and MP D V Sadanand Gowda, panchayat raj and rural development minister Shobha Karandlaje, assembly deputy speaker K G Bopaiah, state Forest Development Corporation chairman S N Manmatha and Karnataka Cashew Development Corporation chairman Kuntikan Lakshman Gowda were honoured on this occasion.
State Vokkaligara Sangh president Kenchappa Gowda felicitated them. Mysore Vidyavikasa Group of Educational Institutions president Vasu presided over the function.
Karnataka Rakshana Vedike president T A Narayan Gowda and state Vokkaligara Sangh director D K V Renuka Prasad participated as chief guests. National awardee teacher K R Gangadhar delivered the felicitation address. Former minister Gangadhar Gowda, Dr K V Chidanand, N A Ramachandra, Nityanand Mundody, Kamadhenu Madhav Gowda, B N S Deviprasad, Baile Lokaiah Gowda, Jake Sadanand, A V Teertharam and Dhananjay Adpangaya were present.
