Udupi, Nov 23: India is a country where cricket is treated as a religion and cricketers are treated as god by millions of people. Love for this sport has spread all over the world. Cricket, being one of the top sports in the world, millions of youths dream and aspire to be world-class cricketers. Madhav Kamath Bantakal is one among those who too had this dream from a young age.

Madhav Kamath, 46 years old is crazy about cricket and still has the same passion and love for this game. He has dedicated his 30 years to cricket and is still continuing in the path of achieving milestones in this sport. He started his cricketing career playing for Power Bantakal when he was 15 years old. Presently, he leads his team under the name Udupi Boys and B K Brothers in the state as well as at national level tournaments. Udupi Boys team is the only team in the entire nation to play all forms of Cricket tournaments. Hard tennis cricket, light tennis cricket, leather ball cricket and stumper cricket is played by Udupi Boys.



Under the captaincy of Madhav Kamath Bantakal, Udupi Boys has bagged more than 350 trophies and is aiming to bag 500 trophies by 2021. Udupi Boys is the only team in the districts of Udupi as well as Mangaluru to bag 350+ trophies in all the forms of cricket tournaments. The players who played under his captaincy represented Goa and Maharashtra Ranji team as well as featured in Karnataka Premier League and Indian Premier League Cricket tournament. Atul Keni and SP Yadav are playing in Goa Ranaji team and Asim Kazi has been featured in Maharastra Ranji team. Kishore Kamath who had played in Udupi Boys had featured for Mumbai Indians in the country’s most prestigious tournament Indian Premier League-2017. International player, Narendra Nippani who represented the Indian team in Physical Disability Cricket World cup and won the title to the nation also featured in his team.

Krishna Satpute, a cricketer who is treated as king of hard tennis cricket in the world and Uday Moorthy South-India's Best Player also featured in his team. More than 1000 cricketers emerged under his captaincy. Players like Dominic, Devraj Kote, Muttu Nayak, Kishore Kamath, Abib and Bipin representing the prestigious Karnataka Premier League - 2019 playing for Bengaluru Blasters. Dasharat, Shivaprasad and Prakash Shirva featured in his team and were responsible to win 100+ trophies.

Recently under his captaincy, Udupi Boys won the prestigious Torpedos Premier League Cricket Tournament and bagged the runners' prize of Rs 5 lac. They also won the Ghodubunder Premier League and bagged Rs 1 lac. He bagged trophies in prestigious tournaments in Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Seemandra.

Madhav Kamath has made winning a habit and his collection of trophies proves it. Madhav says that he was inspired by the batting Of Nithin Mulky and Hari Prasanna which made him crazy about the game. Many people cannot make it into the national cricket team, but the love and craze for cricket never stops. Madhav Kamath Bantakal is one such example.
