Beltangady: Hindu outfits demand NRC in states, hold protest

Beltangady, Nov 23: A protest was held by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti with the support of various Hindu outfits in the compound of Mini Vidhana Soudha here on Friday November 22, urging the central government to issue orders to all the states to prepare National Register of Citizens of India (NRC) within a specific time frame.

Karunakar Abhayankar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Sharada Bhandarkar of Sanathan Sanstha spoke on the occasion.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad town unit president Devaraja Lahyila, Vighnesh Acharya and others were present. Later, a memorandum containing the above demand was handed over to the government through the deputy tahsildar. Jayaraj Salian welcomed and compered the programme.
