Bengaluru, Nov 23: BJP tried to attack Siddaramaiah, leader of Congress Legislative party in order to corner him before by elections on December 5.
BJP has stated that Congress is troubled with groups. Campaigning for disqualified legislator K Gopinath at Mahalaxmi layout here on Friday, November 22, DV Sadananada Gowda, union minister said that Siddaramaiah has no support in Congress party.
He said that Congress party is losing its identity in the country due to confusion within it. “None of the senior Congress leaders are with him. H K Patil, Kharge, D K Shivakumar and G Paramaeshwara have stayed away from him,” he said.
Deputy chief minister Ashwath Narayan and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel have stated that Congress party lacks coordination and Siddaramaiah is sidelined as they have found an alternative to him.
Following discontent in Congress over Siddaramaiah’s control in the party affairs, some of the Congress party leaders have accused him of taking one sided decisions particularly over choosing candidates for the by elections. A faction has stayed away from him.
BJP’s efforts are to spoil Siddaramaiah’s image as the leader of Ahinda, minorities, backward classes and Dalits, BJP has pitted three disqualified MLAs who belong to Kuruba community to which Siddaramaiah belongs.
Siddaramaih wondered why he has become the target of BJP. “Is there a prize by the prime minister and Amit Shah to those who criticize me the maximum? Why are they scared of me?” He asked in his tweet.
Dinesh Gundu Rao, president of KPCC has taken the differences lightly. “How can one say that that there are differences when Congress leaders are preparing to visit separately all the fifteen constituencies,” he asked.
BJP needs to win at least six seats for a simple majority in the assembly. Congress has taken it as an issue of prestige as the disqualified MLAs had caused the downfall of the government.
