Mangaluru, Nov 23: A tipper truck loaded with cattle manure overturned at Chilpady near Neermarga on the outskirts of the city on Friday November 22. In this accident, a person died while two others suffered injuries.
Lokayya Poojary (39) from Mallur Kuntikala, who was a worker, lost his life in the accident. Maxim Cutinho (51) and Hemanth Devadiga (20) suffered injuries.
The tipper was carrying a load of manure from Padu to Permanki at around 10.45 am on Friday when the driver lost control over the vehicle when the tipper moved to extreme left side of the road. Lokayya Pojary, who was seated on the left side of the vehicle, was crushed under the vehicle and suffered grave injuries. His end came when being taken to the hospital.
The lorry had only these people at the time. A case was registered at city traffic (east) police station.
