Karkala: Dr TMA Pai Rotary Hospital receives pre entry level accreditation from NABH

Karkala, Nov 22: Dr TMA Pai Rotary Hospital, Karkala, has received pre entry level accreditation from National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare providers (NABH), Quality council of India with effect from 24th September 2019. Dr H S Ballal -Pro Chancellor, Dr H Vinod Bhat, vice chancellor, MAHE Manipal handed over the certificate to Dr Kirthinath Ballala, chief medical officer, Dr TMA Pai Rotary Hospital, Karkala. Dr Poornima Baliga and Dr PLNG Rao, pro vice chancellors of MAHE, Manipal Dr Narayan Sabhahit, registrar, MAHE Manipal, Dr Sharath K Rao, Dean KMC Manipal, C G Muthana, COO and Dr Avinash Shetty, medical superintendent were present. With this certificate Dr TMA Pai Rotary Hospital, Karkala, has become the first hospital in Karkala to get this accreditation.

The accreditation is granted to the facilities, who maintain international standards in all areas of the hospital settings like patient care, patient education and awareness, quality of nursing care, communication and guidance and infection control practices. This certification program developed and implemented by National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Health care, quality council of India with an aim to provide comprehensive patient care in terms of health promotion, prevention of diseases and therapeutic nursing care, ensure the safe, competent and ethical practice with compassion and comfort to all the patients coming to the hospital as well as in the community.

The construction work of the New OPD Block and OT Complex has begun. Once it’s complete the hospital is hopeful of getting the full NABH Accreditation.
