Udupi: Rockstar Vaikunta death - Doctor clarifies incidents that took place in hospital

Udupi, Nov 21: After street singer Vaikunta, famously known as Kundapur Rockstar Vaikunta died in Udupi district hospital due to multiple organ failure, people have started blaming the district hospital doctors for their negligence.

Ranjith who had admitted Vaikunta to the Udupi district hospital, blamed Dr Nagesh from Udupi district hospital for Vaikunta’s death and cited his negligent attitude as the cause.

However, Dr Nagesh has clarified the incidents that took place in the hospital. Speaking to media, Dr Nagesh said that Ranjith had admitted the patient Vaikunta to the hospital. However, Vaikunta was admitted to the ward as there were no vacant beds in ICU at that time.

Nagesh stated that without the permission of doctors, Ranjith forcefully entered into the ICU and started arguing with casualty medical officer Vasu. Vasu tried to control Ranjith and said it is responsibility of doctors to treat patients and it’s their service. But Ranjith continued to argue and started shooting a video of the patients in the hospital. The hospital staff objected to this act, said Dr Nagesh.

Dr Nagesh also stated that the hospital administration has put a protocol in place. If any untoward incident happens or if anyone stops the hospital staff from performing their duties, the police are to be intimidated. Hence, as per protocol, the hospital staff called the police.

Dr Nagesh agreed that he had a heated argument with Ranjith as he was behaving in an uncontrollable manner. When the police arrived, Dr Nagesh said that Ranjith admitted his mistake and asked for forgiveness for losing his calm.

After the issue was sorted and the police left, Dr Nagesh went for lunch. However, he came to know that Ranjith is filing a case against him. Hence, he has issued a written statement, as people need to know his side of story and the incidents that happened in the hospital.

Sorry here I find some strange things have happened.First a patient died because of cardiac arrest ,multiple organs had failed he died.Doctor is giving explanation about no ICU bed thatswhy couldnt treat him inside, but never mentioned he treated him in any way!Naturally either family members or friends get excited when patient is not treated well ,fighting for life.It was wrong from Ranjith?to enter ICU without permission and make
problems there. It always hurts patients, their treatment will be going out of hand when someone interfere,so further as doctor cleared with police he went to lunch? Was his lunch really so important at that time, than treating a sick person with organ failure? He never mentioned about patients treatment .A patient in that situation should get premier attention ,oxygen ,and heartmassage even on floor or down on earth.God help these people who go to such doctors.may his soul rest in peace.Big mistake from Ranjith is to make video of patients or surrouding.Dear friends please think how do you feel as a patient lieing there someone doing foto from you?they can misuse of it.so be careful about this..may his soul rest in peace.

This is ridiculous things sometimes happening in hospitals , doctors must be much more sensitive to patients problames. Once I am having similar experiences in a doctor clinic in Bantwal I attending function and got loose motions severely after eating there. Twenty times diarrhoea non stop, I ran to a clinic but doctoe is having lunch and seeing a sick child not attending me, only after I complain he is attending to me , talking very arrogant also. His medicine is work also and same day again I have loose motions with bad smells. Local Ayurvedic doctor treated me finally and I improved. Sad situations sometimes with hospitals , authorities must look into it

What happened after this doctor went for lunch.
Did he have a nap too, without bothering this patient Vaikunta?
To cover up, he is giving silly statement (to public)?
