Puttur, Nov 20: An employee of Kaniyoor gram panchayat, who has been suspended on charges of dereliction of duty, has complained to the Uppinangady police, accusing the gram panchayat president and panchayat development officer of creating documents containing fake signatures.
The complainant happens to be Qasim alias A Ibrahim, resident of Padmunja House in Kaniyoor village, Beltangady taluk.
Qasim was working as pump operator of Kaniyoor gram panchayat. The panchayat administration had suspended him from service, accusing him of dereliction of duty. Qasim had appealed to the chief executive officer of Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat, arguing that the process of his suspension was illegal.
The office of the zilla panchayat chief executive officer had sought documents from the gram panchayat. Qasim says that the panchayat administration, in a bid to prove that it had moved legally, had created a notice to show as if it was issued to him seeking to know reasons from him. He has alleged that in the said notice, someone else had signed his name. He has accused the officials of creating fake documents. He has filed complaint with the police against panchayat president, Sunil A Salian and panchayat development officer, Gaurishankar Sanakal.
Uppinangady police who have received the complaint, have begun investigation.
