Udupi, Nov 20: As part of the ongoing Yoga camp led by Baba Ramdev here, a programme, 'Sant Sangam' in which saints and religious leaders took part, was held at the Rajangana of Sri Krishna Math here on Tuesday November 19. The meet passed a resolution urging the central government to enforce population control, accord cow protection and uniform civil code by passing suitable laws.
Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math here, who presided over the programme, expressed his ardent desire to see that cow is given the status of national animal. He wanted sacred River Ganga to be purified on a war footing. He appreciated Baba Ramdev for successfully introducing to the world the importance of Yoga and Ayurveda, which happen to be invaluable gifts to the mankind given by India. He wished that India will be free from diseases, its people will adopt good conduct, and the country would become patriotic, devoid of corruption, and strong nation.
Paryaya Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Swamiji expressed the wish that in the coming days, Pakistan occupied Kashmir will also be part of India.
The other leaders who participated in the meet hailed Baba Ramdev for the contributions he has made towards the revival of meditation, Yoga, and Indian way of living.
Sri Vidyasagarateertha Swamiji of Krishnapur Math, Kaniyoor Sri Vidyavallabhateertha Swamiji, Sri Vidyaprasannateertha Swamiji of Subrahmanya Math, Sri Vidyatmateertha Swamiji from Prayag, Sri Kalahastendra Swamiji of Anegondi Math, Gurpur Sri Rajashekharanananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Math and many others took part in the programme.
Prahlad Rao, administrative officer of Paryaya Sri Palimar Math, compered the programme. Dr Vamshi Krishnacharya welcomed. Balaji Raghavendra Acharya read out the resolutions.
