Udupi: 'Sant Sangam' seeks laws to protect cows, uniform civil code and population control

Udupi, Nov 20: As part of the ongoing Yoga camp led by Baba Ramdev here, a programme, 'Sant Sangam' in which saints and religious leaders took part, was held at the Rajangana of Sri Krishna Math here on Tuesday November 19. The meet passed a resolution urging the central government to enforce population control, accord cow protection and uniform civil code by passing suitable laws.

 

Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math here, who presided over the programme, expressed his ardent desire to see that cow is given the status of national animal. He wanted sacred River Ganga to be purified on a war footing. He appreciated Baba Ramdev for successfully introducing to the world the importance of Yoga and Ayurveda, which happen to be invaluable gifts to the mankind given by India. He wished that India will be free from diseases, its people will adopt good conduct, and the country would become patriotic, devoid of corruption, and strong nation. 

Paryaya Sri Vidyadheesha Theertha Swamiji expressed the wish that in the coming days, Pakistan occupied Kashmir will also be part of India. 

The other leaders who participated in the meet hailed Baba Ramdev for the contributions he has made towards the revival of meditation, Yoga, and Indian way of living. 

Sri Vidyasagarateertha Swamiji of Krishnapur Math, Kaniyoor Sri Vidyavallabhateertha Swamiji, Sri Vidyaprasannateertha Swamiji of Subrahmanya Math, Sri Vidyatmateertha Swamiji from Prayag, Sri Kalahastendra Swamiji of Anegondi Math, Gurpur Sri Rajashekharanananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Math and many others took part in the programme. 

Prahlad Rao, administrative officer of Paryaya Sri Palimar Math, compered the programme. Dr Vamshi Krishnacharya welcomed. Balaji Raghavendra Acharya read out the resolutions.

    We don’t mind giving status of national animal to cows. But protection must be given to all animals and birds including stray pets. Secondly all rivers should be cleansed from pollution and well maintained especially for the sake of conserving water for future generations.

    Effect of comman civil code by following these babas.
    1, People will start eating veg . Export and poultry business will close.
    2, Saloon will be closed no cutting and shaving .
    3, People will start to wore medodi wooden slipper .shoe and leather industry will close.
    4, Only shawal and lungy hand made . textile industry will be closed.
    5, No marriage. All the hospital will be closed and marriage hall hotels.
    6.Travling by walking . Automobile industry closed.
    7, Eduction only religious under the tree . Education system will be closed .
    8. Only dance religious. film industry closed.
    9. Open air toilet. All the toilets closed.

    I feel Baba Ramdev has come to udupi with some other intention. Instead of teaching yoga he gives statements which hurts muslim community. I wont buy his product anymore. His property need to be raided to check his reality.

    Yes, cows should be given PAN, Aadhaar, voting rights, medical insurance and old age pension. Then only they will gain equality with other Indian citizens.

    Recently i was on my way to Goa & the number of cows wandering on the highways & posing danger to drivers ..
    So where are the Cow rakshaks ,Night time they leave the cows on the road & later they the cow is stolen

    thats good move from your side so we can stop cow slaughtering but still u r religion face some issue like

    - beef export
    -in own u r religion people will face problem who eating the beef

    advantages
    - nobady bady will killed in the name of cow matha
    - thier will be no more vote bank for cow matha..

    Let these seers work for the welfare of Hindu community and bring dalits and untouchables at par with them and let them change the Hindu society.

    About bringing uniform civil code, no muslim shall agree to it as we have Devine laws called Sharia law
    We shall not agree to other than sharia law. Man made laws are full of flaws and lacks wisdom.

    That too the law makers are criminals, rapists, money launderers and uneducated lot.

    I call upon Indian muslims to come to street and protest against this move.
    This swamy should stop poking his dirtiest nose in the affairs of other religion, of which he has
    no knowledge.

    Uniform civil laws are not new to our country. Laws against crimes are equally applicable to all religions except some civil laws which are inapplicable. The motive of UCC is to bring about national unity and integration. UCC is prevalent in western countries where laws are strictly enforced without discrimination and we see law and order is well maintained there when compared to third world countries. What we lack in our country is strict and fair implementation of the law.
