Louis Stephen Martis from Udupi wins US$ 1 million Dubai Duty Free raffle

Dubai, Nov 19: The latest winners of the popular Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draw held at the Dubai Airshow Site in Dubai World Central have been announced on the third day of the show. Louis Stephen Martis (48), Indian expatriate living in Abu Dhabi became the latest US$ 1 million winner in Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire in Series 316 with ticket number 0666.

Louis Martis had purchased the ticket online.

Louis Martis hails from Shankarapura, Pangla in Udupi district. He has been resident of UAE for the past 25 years.

Martis runs his own software company in Abu Dhabi and regularly buys his ticket online and always chooses his lucky number ‘666’, it is gathered.

Charity first

"10 per cent will go to charity while the remaining I will save for my children’s education and make some investments." Martis said when asked how he would spend the prize money.

"This is the best news I ever received in my life. I knew my luck would come one day and I am happy that it finally came true. Thank you Dubai Duty Free. This is indeed a wonderful blessing for my family" added Martis.

Following the Millennium Millionaire draw, two other winners were announced in the Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise draw.

Other winners

James Atem, a 47-year-old New Zealander from Australia won a BMW 750Li xDrive M Sport (Bermina Grey) in Series no. 1735 with ticket number 0215. A first time ticket buyer, Atem bought one Finest Surprise and one Millennium Millionaire ticket on his way back to Australia one month after his wedding in Sudan.

Atem works in a mining company in Karratha, Western Australia for 10 years and could not believe his luck with his first ever ticket to Dubai Duty Free promotion.

Robert Peter Martin, an Indian national based in Dubai won an Aprilia Dorsoduro (Adrenalinic Silver) motorbike in Series 387 with ticket number 0509. The authorities have not been able to contact Martin at the moment.

The Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draw was conducted by Dubai Duty Free Chief Operating Officer, Ramesh Cidambi, Executive Vice President for Corporate Services, Salah Tahlak, Bernard Creed, SVP - Finance and Zayed Al Shebli, Vice President - Loss Prevention and Corporate Security.

    Dear Martis Congratulations to you . i am realy happy for you the God Gift .I am sure you will do . if you help some funds to Jeshma who’s suffering from blood cancer in Mangalore she is from poor family ( Recently help requested in dajee world) I leave in oman and we do some contribution to her from this end .     Congratulations Louis Martis . It is really a good thought to use 10% of the amount towards charity. As what i believe is apart from our salary whatever we recieve through lucky draws are a blessing from GOD and we have to use part of the amount towards charity, If we have been given this amount there is a plan which GOD has made.
