Beltangady, Nov 18: Journalist Rons Bantwal was presented Dr A P J Abdul Kalam award by Swastik Friends Club Punjalkatte and Karnataka State Amateur Kabaddi Association. Former Karnataka minister, Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister, B Nagaraj Shetty chaired the programme held at Punjalkatte Bungalow grounds on November 17. Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy president Dayanand Kattalsar was the chief guest.

Priest Yogish K Bhat, Professor P Subrahmanya Edipadithaya, Tulu Academy member, Mallika Shetty Siddakatte, Ravindra Shetty Balanja, social workers Dr Annayya Kulal, Ashwath Hegde, Harindra Pai, Kenthale Nithyanand Poojary, Om Prasad, Rajashekar Shetty, Hemanth Kumar, Baby Kunder, Pradeep Nayak Maddadka, Yadava Kotian, Dharmappa Master, Dayanand Shetty Sarapady, Sudarshan Baja and other elite were present.



Dr A P J Abdul Kalam awards were presented to Kannadiga Patrakartara Sangha Maharashtra president, Rons Bantwal for journalism, Rohinath Pade for industry, teacher B Ramachandra Rao for education, sports person Rutwik Alevoor for sports and Hasanabba Charmady for social work.

Swastik Friends Club, Punjalkatte president, Prashanth M Punjalkatte, honorary president, Abdul P Manjalpalke, tournament convener, Rajesh P Punjalkatte, co-convener, Abdul Hameed Malpe, technical committee member, Francis V V and hundreds of sports enthusiasts were present.

Swastik Friends Club founder president, M Thungappa Bangera welcomed the gathering and gave an introduction. Convener Sundar Raj Hegde honored the guests. Prabhaker Punjalkatte compered the programme. Secretary Jayaraj Attaje rendered the vote of thanks.
