Mangaluru, Nov 18: Perturbed over delay in completion of Pumpwell flyover, the civic activists have planned to hold a unique Kite flying protest 'Nail In Galipata' at Pumpwell flyover on November 24.
The theme of the campaign is to remind elected representative, who has represented the constituency since a decade to honor the words of the most recent deadline of January 2020 given by Nalin Kumar Kateel to complete the flyover.
The activist also released the poster of the Kite flying protest. Pumpwell flyover has already breached deadline eight times as it was supposed to complete in March 2013. Recently MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has announced the new date of completion as January 2020.
The activist urged people to come up with humorous and hilarious kites to remind the elected representative with a strong message.
Speaking to daijiworld.com activist Roopan Fernandes said, "Our MP Nalin Kumar Kateel is giving several deadlines for the completion of Pumpwell flyover which has now became a comedy. On January 2020, only Kite will fly over not the Pumpwell flyover. This is a humorous protest in order to bring seriousness to our elected representatives.
"Before announcing the date, Nalin Kumar Kateel should discuss with the workers and supervisors to know the works that are pending, required time and based upon that information date of completion should be given. A video has become viral where Nalin Kumar Kateel is seen consulting the work supervisor to announce the dates. If the Pumpwell flyover is completed in January 2020, then its good but practically it is not possible as only one month is left with lot of work is pending.”
