Margao, Aug 21: Labour minister Joaquim Alemao on Thursday August 20, informed that the government proposes to open two more labour welfare centres at Guiridolim-Chandor and Cuncolim very soon.
He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the 19th Labour Welfare Centre at Gudi-Paroda in Quepem taluka.
He further advised the women to avail of the benefits of the Labour Welfare Centre and make utmost use of the training being imparted to them. He stressed, that training is very much essential, to achieve better performance and efficiency. Explaining that the government has implemented various labour welfare measures, he asked the working class, particularly women, to avail of the benefit of these schemes to supplement their income.
The minister said that the construction work of the super specialty ESI hospital costing Rs.114 cores at Margao is in progress.
Clafacio Dias, Chairperson, south Goa zilla panchayat and Mario Moraes also spoke on the occasion.
Ronny Pereira, labour inspector, welcomed and proposed the vote of thanks. Sachin Desai, labour inspector, compered the programme.
Sarpanchas of Gudi-Paroda, Sharmila Vaz, Derik Pereira from Chandor, Laura Fernandes from Guidolim and lobour commissioner V B N Raikar were among those present on the occasion.
