Karwar: Car-tanker collision takes away groom's life on wedding day

Karwar, Nov 18: After a car and tanker got involved with head-on collision near Yellapur in Uttara Kannada district on Sunday November 17, a groom proceeding to the venue of his wedding with the marriage party lost his life. The accident happened on national highway 63.

Afroze Iqbal Sheikh (27) lost his life in this accident. He was from Dandeli in the district. He had welding shop at Dandeli. He was on his way to Hangal in Haveri district to get marriedthere, but fate had other ideas.

The car in which Afroze was seated went out of the control of the driver near K Milan Hotel at Yellapur town after which it hit a tanker and fell by its side. The groom, who suffered grave injuries in the accident, was taken to a private hospital, but his life could not be saved. Four others seated the car suffered injuries. They are being treated.

A case about this accident was registered in Yellapur police station.
