Mangaluru, Nov 18: Sports for YCS students was organized on November 15 at Panir Church grounds.

Three events namely throwball for girls, and volleyball for boys and cricket (boys and girls) were organized. Fr Denis Suares, parish priest of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Panir along Fr Shaun Rodrigues, vice president Elias D’Souza, secretary Dennis Gonsalves, Catholic Sabha president Franky Francis Cutinha, Olvet D’Souza, Fajir, Laila D’Souza, Rishel D’Souza, YCS Panir president Melston D’Souza, and YCS sports secretary Frinston Cutinha inaugurated all the three events.

All the animators worked for the smooth functioning of the sports. Fr J B Saldanha, vicar vara congratulated the winners and thanked all the young participants and the organizers. John Fernandes, Fajir, rendered the vote of thanks. Ashwin Monteiro and deacon Ashwin D’Souza were the conveners of the sports meet.

Around 175 YCS students from 9 parishes took part in the sports meet actively.
