18th State level Sahakara Saptaha held in Udupi

Udupi, Nov 16: A press meet was organised by Udupi District Sahakari Union, at press club Udupi on November 16. It was the inauguration of 66th All India Sahakara Saptaha-2019, discussions on government schemes through Sahakara organisation to be undertaken on November 18, at Ammanni Ramanna Shetty Hall, Udupi.

Jayakar Shetty Indrali, president of Udupi District Sahakari Union, addressing the press stated that the inauguration will be done by state home minister, Basavaraja Bommai. The programme will be presided by K Raghupathi Bhat, MLA of Udupi and the Sahakari flag will be hoisted by Kota Srinivasa Poojay, minister of Fisheries, ports and inland transport. MP of Udupi-Chikmagalur constituency Shobha Karandlaje will be inaugurating the 'Marata Malige', Dr M N Rajendra Kumar, president of Karnataka Rajya Sahakara Marata Mahamandala, Bengaluru, will be inaugurating the Sahakara Jatha and N Ganganna, president of Karnataka Rajya Sahakara Mahamandala will be releasing the Sahakara weekly newspaper. Jayakar Shetty continued stating that the 18th state-level Sahakara Saptaha will take place in Udupi.

Devi Prasad Shetty, director of Udupi district Sahakari Union claimed that around 6000 people will participate in the Sahakari Saptaha and all the employees will be wearing uniform and ID cards. Further, he declared it would be a formal and well-organised programme. The Sahakari Ratha started its journey in Kapu on November 14 and would be back to Udupi on November 20.

 

The motto of Sahakari organisations are depicted in the form of songs and the message is carried out to different villages through Sahakari Ratha.

Sridhar P S, Harish Kini, Ashok Kumar Shetty, directors of Sahakari union and Chandra Prathima were present at the press meet.
