Mangaluru, Nov 16: Mumbai police did intense search in the city on Friday, November 15, for four accused connected with a cheating case in hotel business that took place in Dubai nine years ago.
The accused are Suraj Babugodda Kotian (43), a resident of Shakthinagar, Ajay Babugodda Kotian (41), a resident of Rama Temple Road, Mavinakatte, Putthige village in Moodbidri taluk, K Chandrashekhara Upadhya and K Krishnakant Upadhya, both residents of Kodialbailguthu East. The complainant is Sheikh Azeez Sheikh Juman, a resident of Mumbai.
The accused and the daughter of complainant Azeez had started a hotel in Dubai in 2010 on partnership. The business went on well for four months. However, the hotel was closed down after that. It is alleged that the four mentioned persons had cheated to the tune of Rs 56,37,450 and escaped from Dubai.
The inquiry of this case is in Nagpur CJM court of Maharashtra. Recently, the court had taken out a search warrant for the accused.
The Mumbai police said that the accused are changing their names and address frequently.
