Mangaluru: MRPL to provide seed fund assistance to start-ups run by women

Mangaluru, Nov 16: With an aim to promote women entrepreneurs as well as support ‘Start-Up India’ mission launched by the Government of India, MRPL in association with IIM –Kozhikode and IIMK-Live has jointly launched a women entrepreneur development plan called ‘La Eve.’

‘La Eve’ plan of MRPL-IIMK aims to encourage women to venture into business, enterprise in diverse fields and hence launch their unique ideas into successful ventures.

Start-ups will be selected based on the projected business model through IIM-K Live, a start up incubation centre promoted by IIM-Kozhikode. Selected start-ups will be given training, mentoring and support during the incubation stage by IIMK-Live. In addition, a seed fund assistance, which can be up to Rs 25 lac will be made available to the selected start-ups.

Last date for applying is November 25, 2019.

Women entrepreneurs can apply either visiting MRPL site (www.mrpl.co.in, under “Start Up” section, https://emedic.mrpl.co.in/startupMRPL/mrpl/apply.xhtml) or on IIMKLIVE website (https://iimk.ac.in/general/laeve.php).

New ventures that fit the definition of start-ups and registered under the Companies’ Act of India and are founded by majority of women founders are eligible to apply.

Early stage start-ups with the minimum viable product or at least a proof of concept would be considered. Selected start-ups would be provided seed support funds of up to Rs 25 lacs, structured incubation programme with task-based mentoring, access to professional services, co-working space, subsidized training and workshops and several other benefits on campus.
