Belagavi, Nov 14: Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math, Udupi, has demanded for withdrawal of cases registered against leaders like Lal Krishna Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi as also Karsevaks relating to the demolition of the disputed Babri masjid structure in 1992.
Speaking to media persons at Sri Krishna Math here on Wednesday November 13, the Swamiji said that the movement carried out by the concerned was like the independence struggle and wished that the cases outstanding against the concerned would be dismissed.
"In the Supreme Court verdict, five acres of land has been ordered to be given for construction of mosque. It can be built at a spot as would be provided. Our wish that temple dedicated to Lord Ram has to come at his birth place has been fulfilled," he noted.
He said that at the harmony meet organized at Delhi, scholars from both the religions arrived at certain decisions. "People of both the religions should develop harmony and mutual relationship. We have to forget differences and work for united India. The decisions arrived at there and made it clear that irrespective of the religions to which we might belong, we are Indians. Hindus should cooperate with the construction of mosque and Muslims should lend their support for the temple construction. I am happy that there was no turmoil, group clashes or disruption of peace in the entire country after the Supreme Court verdict," he stated.
