Bengaluru, Nov 14: Out of 17 constituencies where the legislators have been disqualified by the assembly speaker and bypoll has been scheduled to be held on December 5 in Karnataka, the election commission is holding bypoll only in 15 constituencies. As such, uncertainty looms large over the future of the remaining two legislators.
The election commission has not included Maski and Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituencies in the current bypoll. Maski constituency, which was represented by Congress MLA, Pratap Gowda Patil, is not facing bypoll as an election petition registered against Patil is pending in the court. Pratap Gowda had won the last assembly election by a narrow margin of 213 votes.
Muniratna, who had won from Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency in the city on a Congress ticket, is facing a court case relating to creating fake voter IDs. Therefore, there will not be bypoll in these two constituencies, it is gathered.
