Karkala: Sowbhagya Madiwala chosen taluk panchayat president

Karkala, Nov 14: Sowbhagya Madiwala, taluk panchayat member representing Mala constituency was unanimously elected as the president of Karkala taluk panchayat. Harish Nayak from Ajekar constituency became the vice president, and his election too was unanimous.

Malini J Shetty, who was the president of the taluk panchayat till recently, and vice president, Gopal Moolya, had resigned from their respective posts about a month back. In the light of this development, Kundapur subdivisional assistant commissioner, Raju K, and taluk panchayat executive officer here, Dr Harsha K B, oversaw the election process of the new president and vice president on Wednesday, November 13.
