Udupi, Nov 14: Under the directions of railway authorities at Belapur Mumbai and Karwar, the railway protection force personnel here raided an unauthorized railway reservation counter. An agent named Thimma from here, who was found to be selling railway tickets without authorization, was arrested on Tuesday, November 12.

The agent used to sell Tatkal reservation tickets to others at an inflated price. Railway protection force inspector, Santosh Gaonkar, and his team of personnel conducted a secret operation to nab the agent.

A sum of Rs 5,825 that was illegally collected towards air-conditioned coach train tickets in train No. 12509 and cash Rs 2,060 was seized from his possession. On being produced him in the court, he was fined Rs 15,000 by the presiding officer.
