Bengaluru, Nov 13: As many as 50 children from government schools and backward regions, mostly belonging to the poorer sections, got a rare special treat on the eve of Children’s Day thanks to the initiative of the stream restaurant, Stony Brook in Rajarajeshwari Nagar on Wednesday, November 13.

Children who do not have access to fine dining and elite ambience and wish to experience the same were offered the special treat of fine dining with a stream running under their feet.

The restaurant wanted to provide a unique experience to the people of Bengaluru, explained the owner Vinay Kumar adding: ``Many people have appreciated the concept of this restaurant and now it was the time for under privileged children to experience the same.’’

School boy Manjunath, who narrated his experience at the Stony Brook restaurant, said he often passed by the restaurant and had the desire to dine at this restaurant. This desire has now been fulfilled and I had a chance to taste delicious food, he said.

Over 50 children experienced a running stream below their feet as they savoured the food and were also given notebooks, pens and toys.

This restaurant was inspired by a similar restaurant in the Philippines on the banks of a river.

The ambience of Stony Brook matches the name and the entire place is built with stone and the floor is cobblestoned and the guests are treated to a fish pedicure, Vinay Kumar said.
