Thanks to all of you for your good wishes. Nice to see so much interactions in Daiji World.
those who are interested in the research work:
The doctoral research looks at 401 litigations of several patients who have gone to courts on being aggrieved at the deficiency of health care services and the public interest litigations on the issues of negligence or non-avalilbility of services. The litigations were from 18 states and the courts in the respective states. Several litigations analysed are from the Supreme Court as well. The analysis delves into the issues - what are the conditions in which citizens accessed courts, what and how of the court processes, what were the outcomes of such litigations and lastly, what has emerged as healthcare jurisprudence which could impact citizens in general and people from the disadvantaged communities in particular. The analysis is enriched by the interviews with lawyers, judges, petitioners and patients. I
t is hoped the insights gathered from the research will strengthen patient rights in India and will further be useful to those who suffer from medical negligence or medical exploitation.
