Bengaluru, Nov 13: JD(S) state working president and veteran leader, R V Harish, has resigned from the party.
Harish, who was an aspirant for a ticket from Mahalakshmi Layout constituency, said that the core committee and parliamentary board in the party have lost their relevance and decisions taken by them are not valued. Frustrated at this state of affairs, he said, he has resigned.
"I was in an important party post, but the senior leaders of the party did not value either my feelings or my plans towards strengthening the party. I had no problem being a sincere worker of the party, but my conscience does not permit me to serve as a slave. Therefore, I have resigned from the primary membership of the party," he said in a letter addressed to party's state president, H D Kumaraswamy, and former chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy.
He said he had brought to the notice of the top leadership of the party about anti-party activities, but nothing was done to handle it. "The party is being treated as private property. During the previous assembly election, the ticket was not given to Pillamuniswamappa, who was Devanahalli MLA. All these things have been affecting the prospects of the party," hie has complained.
