Madikeri: Posing as IPS officer, marrying girl - Gang from Kerala arrested

Madikeri, Nov 11: A gang of four from Kerala was arrested by the personnel of Napoklu police station in Kodagu district on Sunday November 10. The arrests pertain to the complaint of marrying a girl from this taluk by making her believe that he happens to be an IPS officer.

The arrested people are Mithun (21), Manoj (30), Abu Tahir (31) and Vinod (27).

Mithun from Thrissur, Kerala, had married a lady from Naladi village in Madikeri taluk by projecting himself to be an IPS officer. After the marriage, the lady came to know about the reality and came back to her parental home.

The youth, perhaps mimicking some film, came back in full police uniform accopanied by his friends to the girl's parental home to exercise his right to take his bride back. He again asserted that he was an IPS officer. The lady called the police after which the police arrived and took the fake police officer and his gang of friends away.

A csse about this incident was registered in Nalpoklu police station.
