Mangaluru: Two held for illegal cattle transportation

Mangaluru, Nov 11: It is reported that two persons were arrested by the police on Saturday evening on the allegation of illegal transportation of cattle. The incident happened at Valachil Padavu in the city.

The arrested persons happen to be Shameem (39) from Adyar, and Basheer (53) from Farangipet. Two cows and a pick-up vehicle used for cattle transportation were taken into possession.

Police inspector of the city rural station, Bhajantri, was in his evening rounds on Saturday evening when his team got information that two cows were being transported at Valachil Padavu. The police, based on this information, raided the spot, arrested Shameem and pick-up driver Basheer. It is gathered that the accused did not possess any documents for transporting the cattle.

A case about the incident was registered in the rural police station here, and investigation has been undertaken.
