Bagalkot: Couple plunges into river, commits suicide

Bagalkot, Nov 11: In a tragic incident which happened near Chinchakhandi near Lokapur in the district on Sunday November 10, a couple plunged into Ghataprabha river and ended lives.

The deceased have been identified as Mounesh Pundalik Kambar (28) from Ramadurg taluk of Belagavi district and Akshata Mounesh Kambar (25). Mounesh was employed with J K Cement factory at Muddapur here.

Mounesh along with wife came near Chinchakhandi bridge, parked the motor bike on the bridge, and left a death note which read that they were solely responsible for this incident, and requesting their family to perform their funeral at the same spot together, before jumping into the river below.

Both the bodies have been recovered. A case was registered in Lokapur police station.
