Firing Across Border Near Jammu

IANS

Jammu, Aug 16: There was an exchange of fire between suspected infiltrators and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on the border with Pakistan in Ramgarh sector near Jammu, officials said on Sunday.

According to BSF officials, there was some movement noticed by the guards late Saturday night near the barbed wire fence erected to prevent intrusion inside the Indian territory.

"The BSF troopers challenged and as result there was firing from a suspected group of intruders," an official said.

The firing continued for two to three hours, the official said. "We assume that the intruders escaped back into Pakistan but we are conducting searches," he said.

Unconfirmed reports say that a portion of barbed wire fence was cut, suggesting possible intrusion. But BSF officials refused to comment.

The security forces including BSF, army and police are conducting extensive searches and alert has been sounded on the Jammu-Pathankot highway. Ramgarh sector is 15 km from the highway.

These infiltrators are blessed and protected by Pak Military. India is a great peace loving country and its army is defensive. In all the wars fought so far with our neighbours, India was on the defensive side. This provoking act of Pak must be stopped once and for all and Indian army should discard the image of defensive army and go in for offensive and destroy terror bases and training camps. China is aiding Pak military to destabilise India as China doesnt want see India becoming economic power in Asia. Does any one understand the ground realities????
