Bicholim, Nov 7: On Wednesday, Congress workers in the state burned an effigy of Union environment minister Prakash Javadekar. The workers accused Javadekar of double standards in the Mhadei issue.

The 50 protesting party workers submitted a memorandum in this regard to the Bicholim deputy collector.

Girish Chodankar, state Congress president, even accused the Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant of deceiving the public. "Mhadei has exposed the double standards of the BJP government in the state and at the centre. It is a BJP plan to win elections in Karnataka," he said.
