Mangaluru, Nov 7: Former mayor of the city corporation here, Purandaradas Kulur has resigned from the primary membership of the Congress party. He took this decision as he failed to procure the party ticket for the coming city corporation election.

"I was asked by the district Congress president to come to his office on October 31 along with Kallige Taranath Shetty for collecting 'B' form. I was preparing the nomination paper in the office. At the last minute, he refused to issue me party ticket. I have worked for the party for a long period and I felt insulted. Therefore, I resigned," Purandaradas explained in a release.
