Bengaluru, Nov 7: "CM Yediyurappa is not our enemy. In politics no one is a permanent friend or foe. Anything is possible in politics," said JD (S) supremo and former PM H D Deve Gowda.
Deve Gowda was responding to the statement of CM Yediyurappa, in which the CM said that Deve Gowda has spoken to him over phone. He further said, "I have not had any political conversation with Yediyurappa. I have spoken with CM Yediyurappa and DCM Ashwath Narayana with regards to the Book Fair. There is nothing else than this. The time is not yet ripe for speaking more than this also."
"I do not know when the general elections of assembly will arrive. We will fight alone in the elections without making alliance with any party. There is no need of a belief in the democracy system that I am enemy of Siddaramaiah or Yediyurappa," said the former PM.
Speaking further on the conversation issue with CM Yediyurappa, Deve Gowda said, "I am committed to my statements. CM Yediyurappa is not our enemy. In the past, I have fought along with Siddaramaiah. Similarly, we have shared the dais on some occasions. In politics there is no friend or foe. We will do politics as per the prevailing political scenario in the state or country. Siddaramaiah is not my sworn enemy. These things are common in politics."
