Mangaluru, Nov 6: Budding scientist at Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Jayalakshmi M received her PhD degree in Metallurgical and Material Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Karnataka (NITK) Suratkal on the occasion of 17th annual convocation of the institute held on November 2.
Jayalakshmi M successfully defended her thesis entitled 'Effect of shot peening coverage on microstructure and mechanical properties of plasma nitride AISI 316 stainless steel' under the guidance of Prof Udaya Bhat (Department MME) and Prof B Ramachandra Bhat (Department of Chemistry) of NITK.
She is the daughter of retired principal Prof M Seetharama Poojary and associate professor Sunanda U of University College Mangaluru.
