Mangalore, Aug 14: Munir Katipalla, in a petition filed with the Lokayukta, has alleged that P G Ramesh, who functioned as the commissioner of the City Corporation here for some time, had wrongly cleared 298 files on the last day of his tenure at the Corporation.
In the petition, Munir has explained, that signing of huge pile of files in a hurry ,amounts to gross violation of rules and regulations framed by the state government. He has demanded the Lokayukta to conduct investigations into the act and take action against the guilty.
"Ramesh, who was the in-charge commissioner of the City Corporation during the interim period after the earlier incumbent was transferred, had taken the files home and signed them without verifying the details, at a single stretch. 25 multistoried buildings were among the projects he cleared during the bulk disposal of files. The commissioner has to pass his orders only after the engineers conduct the spot inspection and record their observations. But Ramesh violated all these rules, Munir Katipalla claimed in his complaint.
