Bengaluru, Nov 5: Sri Vishwapriyateertha Swamiji, president of Admar Math Education Council, observed that of late, people backed by good education are getting involved with anti-social activities. Observing that these people are educated but lack culture and refinement, he stated that an education which does not provide refinement proves detrimental for the society.
He was speaking at the golden jubilee celebrations of the trust organized in the premises of Poornaprajna Education Trust institutions. He noted that the children can lose their way during the period of their growing up if the children do not get punished for their wrongs.
"The children should get good culture and refinement. The trust has set up 31 educational institutions all over the state for providing education from first to tenth standard. If a person wants to achieve something in life, he should undertake in-depth study. Everyone should strive not to become a burden for the society and always stay grateful," he advised.
On the occasion, postal superintendent, Chandrashekhar, released the first day postal cover brought out on the occasion. Sri Vishwapriyateertha Swamiji dedicated souvenir and 'Geeta Sara - gist of Bhagavad Gita' on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, celebrated scientist, Bharat Ratna C N R Rao said that people who have money are not rich. People who have good education and have knowledge are rich, he felt. "We cross several stages in life when getting educated. Out of all the teachers you get during this journey, primary school teachers are the best as they lay foundation for the future education of children," he said.
Bharat Ratna C N R Rao, his wife Indumathi Rao, former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde, Admar Math Education Council secretary K Srihari and others were present.
