Bengaluru: Diamond jewellery worth Rs 25 lac stolen from hotel room

Bengaluru, Nov 5: In an incident which happened within the limits of High Grounds police station in the city recently, diamond ornaments worth Rs 25 lac were stolen. They belonged to a woman from Chhattisgarh who had hired a room in a hotel.

Syantee Batra from Chhattisgarh had checked into the above hotel along with family members on November 1. She was on a visit to the city to take part in the marriage ceremony of a relative. She stayed in a hotel on Loop /road, Madhavanagar here. Before leaving for the marriage function, she had asked the hotel staff to clean her room. When preparing to leave for Chhattisgarh after 8 pm that day, she opened the jewellery box and found that diamond ornaments had gone missing.

The woman has filed a police complaint and the police have begun investigation.
