Kaup: Protest march held against ISPRL’s anti-public statements, works

Kaup, Nov 5: Kaup Block Congress Committee (South), Udupi District held a protest march against Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited’s (ISPRL) anti-public statements and works at Majoor. The march was organized under the leadership of former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake and Devi Prasad Shetty from Padoor bus stand to ISPRL, Majoor on Monday, November 4.

Addressing the protesters Deviprasad Shetty said, “Under the leadership of Sorake, successful protests have taken place in the past. He always lends his hand to the public issues and helps them.”



Deviprasad Shetty demanded house for people, who have lost their residence and also demanded employment. He demanded for basic facilities for the public and to provide relief funds for people, who are affected by the rock blasts and provide three times more relief funds in the second stage for people who have lost their residence in the blast.

The march was inaugurated by Vinay Kumar Sorake. On reaching ISRPL facility, Sorake said, “Employment must be provided for the people around Majoor location and not for Bihari or UP people.” He also raised voice against MLA of Kaup Lalaji Mendon for not responding to the people and also warned that he would not hesitate to go in protest against the people elected from the BJP party.

Michael Ramesh, Navin Chandra Suvarna, president of Kaup Block Congress west, Leeladhar Shetty Kaup took part in the protest march. Vinay Kumar Sorake and Deviprasad Shetty demanded and also requested officials of ISPRL to respond to the problems of public soon and conduct a meeting with them. “If the officials of ISPRL do not heed to the demands, in coming days, a huge protest will be held in front of DC office,” said Sorake and Deviprasad Shetty.
