Mangaluru, Nov 4: Canara organization for development and peace along with Kamadhenu and Kalpavraksha self help group members celebrated Deepavali.
CODP director, Fr Oswald Monteiro who lit the lamp said that harmony grows when all the members belonging to different religions in self help groups celebrate the festival together. “Let us be the light of society by our noble deeds, talk and life,” he said.
Chief guest, Kadri police station inspector Maruthi while conveying his Deepavali wishes highlighted the troubles faced by women and children and legal recourse.
Digital service center’s Arun D’Souza threw light on facilities available from the government and online services.
Anugraha self help association president, Shanthi D'Souza welcomed the gathering. Mahasangha president, Sandhya rendered the vote of thanks. Bhagavathi Sangha president Satyavathi compered the programme.
CODP manager, Ravikumar Crasta was present. CODP organization activist Kalagirish conducted the programme.
