Panaji, Aug 13: The state government is taking all the necessary steps in getting control over the fast spreading swine flu in state and the country.
The state health department has set up a new H1N1 influenza ward in the Goa Medical college, Bambolim in addition to the isolation and treatment centre at the Cottage hospital at Chicalim in Vasco.
Goan students studying in Pune have started rushing back to the state.
The state government has declared Ganesh Chaturthi holidays from August 21 in view of the fast spreading flu.
The swine flu effect can also be spotted at the various pharmacies across the state where in pharmacists have switched to surgical masks as a precautionery measure.
