Sullia: Blood donation, free health check-up camp held at Kannada Peraje school

Suliia, Nov 4: Karnataka Rakshana Vedike Swabhimani Bana, Kodagu district unit and Blood Helpline Karnataka (R) (official sponsors HDFC bank Mangaluru) jointly organized a public blood donation camp and free health check up with the active participation of Yenepoya hospital Deralakatte on Saturday, November 2 at the campus of Kannada Peraje school of the town.

The programme, which was presided over by gram panchayat president Jayalakshmi Dharanidhar, was inaugurated by member of Madikeri taluk panchayat Nagesh Kundalpadi.

Blood donor Sudhakar Rai gave information about the benefits of donating blood. District president Unnaia Peraje welcomed the gathering.

180 people got their health check-up done in the camp and 17 people donated blood. The medical officers and staff of Yenepoya medical college Deralakatte coordinated in the health check-up as well as collection of blood from the donors.

The programme was compered by Ashraf Arabi Kalladka.
