Bengaluru, Oct 31: The Delhi high court adjourned the hearing into petitions filed by former state minister and Congress leader, Shivakumar's wife and mother, to November 4. They have questioned the relevance of the summons served on them by the enforcement directorate.
The enforcement directorate had asked Shivakumar's mother, Gowrama, to appear before it for questioning on October 15. It had also asked his wife, Usha, for a personal presence on October 17. But the enforcement directorate, through a plea put forth in the high court on October 16, had said that it was inclined to serve fresh summons and therefore they need not present themselves for the said questioning.
When the hearing resumed on Wednesday, advocate for the enforcement directorate informed the high court that fresh summons was issued to the family members of Shivakumar but they have been claiming that they have not received the same.
Advocate for Shivakumar's family said that the modified application can be considered only after his clients receive the newly issued summons. Judge of the high court, Brijesh Sethi, after hearing both the arguments, adjourned the hearing of the petition to November 4.
