Mangaluru: Private firm employee falls from scooter, loses life

Mangaluru, Oct 30: A lady who was travelling on the pillion of a scooter that was moving towards Kavoor from Bajpe succumbed to severe head injuries after getting tossed to the road. The accident happened on Monday, October 28.

The accident victim, identified as Rani Kuswa (18), was working as a sales assistant for a readymade clothes shop behind Bajpe bus stand. Even though she belonged to a family from Madhya Pradesh, having lived here since childhood, Rani was well-versed with Kannada, Tulu, and Malayalam languages. It is said that she was a resident of Kinnipadavu here.

She had travelled as a pillion rider in a scooter driven by her cousin, Ram Niwas, from her shop. When the scooter reached near Vijaya Vittala Bhajana Mandir at Bajple, she was thrown from the scooter and sustained severe head injuries. She was immediately taken to a private hospital nearby, and after first aid, was taken to a private hospital in the city. But without responding to efforts made to save her life, she breathed her last around midnight.

Based on a complaint filed by the mother of the deceased, Mathdeen Kuswa, Bajpe police have registered a case.
