Udupi: Rajyotsava Award for Dr Kudlu Krishna Prasad of Prasad Netralaya

Udupi, Oct 28: Dr Kudlu Krishna Prasad of Prasad Netralaya will be honoured with the State Rajyotsava Award for his service in the field of medicine on November 1.

Rajyotsava award is the highest civilian award given in Karnataka by the state government. This year, on the occasion of 64th Kannada Rajyotsava, 64 people are going to receive the Rajyotsava award and 5 people have been selected for their achievements in the field of medicine.

Dr Krishna Prasad is a well-known ophthalmologist in Udupi. Being the director of Prasad Netralaya, he has treated several eye conditions for years.

Dr Krishna Prasad had his basic medical training (MBBS) from JJM Medical College, Davangere. He did his masters in ophthalmic surgery from the same institution. Later, he obtained contact lens training from L V Prasad Eye Institute Hyderabad and did a fellowship in microsurgery from the Lions Nab eye hospital, Meeraj, along with phaco training from Project Drishti, Bengaluru.

He later created a dynamic team of ophthalmologists and founded Prasad Netralaya, which focuses on ocular health.
