Mangalore, Aug 8: Dix Engineering Project Services Pvt Ltd launched the new 5700 cc Power Curber Slip Form Paver Machine for the first time in the city, for executing the project of laying concrete road from Kuntikana to KSRTC bus stand contracted to the firm, on Friday August 7.
District in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar, MLA Yogish Bhat, City Corporation commissioner Vijayaprakash, NHAI Mangalore division engineer Krishne Gowda, Devanand Shetty, managing director of Dix Engineering, Deekshith Shetty, director of the company, Ashok Rao, managing director of Allen Buildwell Pvt Ltd Mumbai, Wayne Irby, chief technician of Power Curbers Inc USA and several dignitaries were present at the inaugural held at Kuntikan here.
The company informed that the machine procured from Power Curbers Inc USA, can be used for concreting the roads, curbs, sand gutter applications and for highway safety barriers, besides bridge parapets, sidewalks, stadium risers, irrigation ditches etc. The machine is able to lay concrete roads without any steel channels on either side, it was informed. It is equipped with an automatic electronic sensor for paving. The machine, specially designed to suit city roads and costing around three crore rupees, can lay a kilometre of road in just eight hours and this is the first Slip Form Paver in India with a hopper, the company said.
