Udupi, Oct 25: The inauguration of Bio-incubator center, which is established under the joint venture of Karnataka Government and Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) was done by deputy chief minister of Karnataka C N Ashwath Narayan at Manipal on Friday, October 25.
The stage programme was held, after the inauguration of bio-incubator center at Chaitya Hall of Fortune Inn Valley View. Dr Ashwath Narayan, DCM of Karnataka, who is also the minister for Higher Education, IT, BT, Science and Technology and Medical Education was the chief guest of the programme.
Addressing the students, staff and the people present in the gathering, Ashwath Narayan said that he feels proud to inaugurate the bio-incubator center and also remembered the days when he studied decades ago at KMC College Manipal. He said, “This bio incubator center is going to encourage more and more startups and entrepreneurs and is going to make a bigger difference in the coming years. Today, Karnataka ranks top most among the states in terms of innovations, startups and in many other fields. This was possible only because of the government spending lots of money on startups and their innovations and also encouraging them.
“The government is trying its best to help the entrepreneurs in all possible ways so that they must not be denied of any opportunities when competing globally. Today, in terms of facilities, Karnataka is providing much better facilities than the other states in the country, has all the infrastructure and with the collaboration of MAHE more and more startups are going to emerge from this part and are going to do bigger achievements globally,” he said.
Raghupathi Bhat, MLA of Udupi, Dr H Vinod Bhat, vice chancellor of MAHE, Preeti Gehlot, IAS, CEO zilla panchayat Udupi district, Dr Ranjan R Pai, chairman MEMG, G Jagadeesha, deputy commissioner of Udupi district, Dr H S Ballal, pro-vice chancellor of MAHE, Dr Manish Thomas, CEO of Bio-Incubator center, Nisha James, superintendent of police Udupi, Prashanth Mishra and IGP Chakravarthy were present on the dais.
