Mangaluru, Oct 24: Little Sisters of the Poor at Maroli, Mangaluru, in association with their benefactors and well-wishers are organizing a day-long mini carnival, ‘Festival of Charity’, with entertainment and fun-filled games on November 10 at Maroli.
The carnival is organized for a noble cause and it contains food galore, which includes homemade delicacies, take away food, assorted pastries and savouries, ice creams, exciting games, request songs, gift hampers and handicrafts items. The music will be an additional entertainment. The entry will be free.
The Little Sisters of the Poor are taking care of around 70 inmates of both sexes, aged above 65 years and belonging to all religions and provide them with basic amenities without any charge for the rest of their lives. The institution aims to provide them holistic health care, which includes physical, mental, moral and spiritual, and thus assist them to spend their time with dignity, peace and joy in the twilight period of their life.
Two nuns of this institution visit the surrounding areas of Mangaluru daily and collect funds in cash and kind to meet the minimum requirements of their residents. It is solely by the public charity and generosity that enable these nuns to meet the daily needs of this facility.
