Bantwal: Elderly man goes missing under mysterious circumstances

Bantwal, Nov 14: An elderly man who visited a bank to collect his old-age pension has gone missing under mysterious circumstances after returning home. A case has been registered at the city police station.

The missing person has been identified as Uggappa (70), a resident of Nagavalachil in Sajipamunnuru village.

Uggappa had visited the Union Bank in Panemangaluru to collect his pension. After returning home, he spoke briefly with his daughter-in-law over the phone and ended the call. However, when she tried calling him back, he did not answer.

It was later discovered that Uggappa had left home, leaving his mobile phone behind. His son, Anil Kumar, searched for him extensively but could not locate him. Bantwal police are conducting further investigation into the case.
