Kasargod: Body found in discarded well – Police believe it to be murder

Kasargod, Oct 24: The police, who took up investigation into the incident in which a lifeless body of a youth was found inside a discarded well in a desolate stretch of land near Dinesh Beedi Company on Nayak's Road here, was actually murdered.

The body was identified as belonging to Shine Kumar alias Shah Nawaz (27), son of Ramesh - Prameela couple residing at Madhur Chettunguli. His decomposed body was found inside a discarded well on October 20.

A team led by police surgeon, Dr Gopalakrishna Pillai, had conducted post-mortem of the body. The team came to the conclusion that Shine Kumar was killed. The police however have not provided more details about the death.

Shine Kumar was named as an accused in a number of criminal cases. Vidyanagar police had registered cases in the past against him under Kerala Anti-social Activities Prevention Act. It is gathered that Shine Kumar, his mother Prameela, and sister, had recently converted to another religion.
