Udupi, Aug 2: Crossland College, Brahmavar, near here will organise a state-level conference on Total Quality Management (TQM) in educational institutions, with special reference to accreditation/re-accreditation process, here on August 7 and 8.
Press release stated that the resource persons, Gulbarga University department of Microbiology Professor Dr Y M Jayaraj will deliver a lecture on assessment and accreditation. Brahmavar Little Rock Institute for Educational Leadership director professor Mathew C Ninan will deliver a talk on healthy classroom practices for academic excellence. Kottayam C M S College department of Commerce professor Dr Tomy Mathew will deliver a talk on sharing experience in re-accreditation and Bangalore Christ College department of Media Studies professor John Joseph Kennedy will deliver a talk on TQM in educational institutions.
TQM is the watchword in every field whether in business or in education. With the arrival of NAAC, there has been a growing interest in the interaction of the principles of TQM in higher education. The mandate is on the administrators and the teachers, in these educational institutions to set benchmarks to elevate the quality of higher education. The accreditation of higher educational institutions by NAAC has set in motion the thirst for quality of improvement, with many colleges gearing up for the re-accreditation process.
