Mangaluru, Oct 11: Department of Eye KMC Hospital Attavar on occasion of World Sight Day 2019, added an advanced Facility - Optical Coherence Tomography(OCT) Angioplex, the first-of-its-kind in Dakshina Kannada district.
Professor and Former HOD, Department of Ophthalmology (Eye) KMC Mangaluru Dr C R Kamath inaugurated the Optical Coherence Tomography Angioplex unit by cutting the ribbon at the Eye department.
The Inaugural was followed by a stage programme and an awareness session by Dr Gladys, assistant professor and retina specialist at KMC Hospital about the benefits and convenience of the newly installed OCT Angioplex machine.
Addressing the gathering the chief guest Dr C R Kamath said the doctors (teaching staff) of KMC have raised the standard of teaching medical education to a very high level.

Dr Shobha Pai, head of Eye department, Dr Anand Venugopal, regional chief of Clinical Services KMC Hospital Ambedkar Circle, Dr M.Venkatraya Prabhu, dean, KMC Mangaluru, were also present on the dais. Dr Rajesh Nayak compered the programme.
